1961 MARX 18 MISS SEVENTEEN A Beauty Queen Doll BARBIE Bild Lilli Clone NEAR MINT w/ ORIGINAL BOX The Miss Seventeen A Beauty Queen doll was introduced in 1961 and manufactured by Louis Marx & Co. She measures approximately 18" tall and comes in her original box, with her "Miss Seventeen sash, a red satin cape lined in white, a gold crown and trophy and a pedestal stand. The plastic doll has a blonde rooted pony tail hairstyle, painted facial features with the high arching eyebrows, molded earrings which are painted black, jointed head, arms and legs and removable red high heel shoes. The doll is in near mint condition with no damage, spits, or cracks and appears to have never been played with or actually even taken out of the box. The only faults I see preventing it from being closer to perfect are the three small red spots on her left wrist which happened at the factory during manufacture as this is overspray from her red fingernails and her black knit leotard / swimsuit is shredding a bit on the front left side, which is normal over time.

Also the arms and legs are not as tight as I would assume they should be but this may be normal for this doll. Her crown and trophy are still sealed in their original bags and still stapled to the inside of the box. What I find strange is that one of the tips on the crown is missing (see photo seven) but the piece is not in the sealed baggie so again a manufacturing error I would assume.

Overall in my opinion this is the nicest example of the 18 Miss Seventeen doll I have seen in over 40 years of dealing toys and collectibles. Thank you and good luck!
