Vintage Blonde Original Side Part American Girl Barbie Suit Shoes Booklet 1965

Gorgeous Vintage Ash Blonde Side Part American Girl Barbie in Original Striped Swimsuit and Turquoise Heels/Mules from the mid-60's. She comes with a Barbie Booklet featuring the the "American Girl" illustrations. I bought her for myself but have since decided to pare down my personal collection. I don't want all these pretty dolls just sitting in a closet.

This American Girl is just so lovely. I'm not certain, but I'm thinking the ribbon is a replacement from that time. She has her original face paint.

Her lips have faded to a butter yellow. She has a little bit of rubbing to her eye ridges. They could be be touched up, if desired. There is also a little bit of a clear residue on the right hand side of her face.

I haven't tried to clean it off. Her body is in nice condition with most of it's coral pink fingernail polish. No neck splits or green ear. A few pink marks on her arms (please see close up photos) and a light bluish dot on her upper back. Her right leg clicks 3 times, but her right leg no longer does.

Her swimsuit is in nice used condition. Some slight fading and fabric wear.

No splits in the shoes. The bottom of the left shoe marked Japan. I added a booklet featuring Barbie with the American Girl hairstyle on the front. It includes the 1600 fashions but does have some wear and wrinkling.

I think this doll is so beautiful. But, since I'm not the original owner, or an expert I'm not able to make any guarantees about her.
